Lyrics to most of this album was written with in an hour or less before
vocal tracking. Lyrics were actually improvised at every
show before this record was made. Something we will never do again.
Although all the choruses were written as the songs were written.
I always had a basic idea for this song to be about the inability to
control everything in your life or to help every living thing that we feel
sorry for. Suffering will always exist and its something that we can only do our best to cope with, and move on. Pretty straightforward song, and the song itself was created on a hot day when Josh was about to pull his hair out from writer's block. LYRICS:
lyrics
Coma left me facing death
seven years of blissful rest
I face the truth now.
abuse and track the pulse of men.
Science helped us find our icons,
in time to move us on.
You sure as hell can't change this world
it drains my head and bends my mind.
It goes on and on.
You sure as hell can't change this world
it drains my head, it drains my mind,
as it goes on.
Funny how we ask for more.
Our bodies want what we can't control,
in desperation.
Trust your demons, trust your friends,
and live your life like a house on fire.
For once we're moving on.
